Jodi Firestone was blessed with twins in the fall of 2006 – a son and a daughter. She felt so special and lucky and she wanted the world to know her babies were twins! Even on the many days she couldn’t make it out of the house, she still had fun dressing them alike. She quickly found that finding stylish, coordinating clothes for a boy and a girl was a challenge.
As any mom knows, getting out of the house with a new baby is no small feat – multiply that by 2, and it’s easy to understand why heading to the mall was rarely an option. Jodi turned to on-line shopping, but couldn’t find sites that had coordinated clothes for boys and girls in the same spot. Between feedings, diaper changes and everything else, spending time surfing the web was not a luxury Jodi had.
When the twins were 4 months old, Jodi decided she really wanted to get out and shop. She made it to the dressing room at Nordstrom. Within minutes her sweet babies began screaming in unison, and Jodi was literally stuck in the dressing room too embarrassed to come out. “There must be a better way,” she thought to herself.
Jodi turned to friend and personal shopper Karen Denker for help in finding cute coordinating outfits for her twins. Karen is the mom of two sons who are 2 years apart, and was always on the lookout for fashionable clothing options too - especially for special occasions and family photos. Jodi mentioned that she wished there were sites she could go to that showcased matching or coordinating outfits for boys and girls. Surely other moms must feel the same way. Besides, everyone knows someone with twins, and wouldn’t a site like this make gift buying easier too?
The 2 friends started getting excited and brainstorming ideas, and from there TrendyTwinShop was born!
